Jon is the one who most often helps our customers when they need support, and that's exactly what they get from us when they need it.
Jon is our service technician and has worked with us since February 2022. He has a background as a computer electronics technician, telecom installer and has worked as a sound technician for many years. On the job, Jon does quite a few things: He services net cleaners that have been in use for a while, answers phone support from customers who have our products in operation, keeps track of inventory and handles spare parts orders.
A typical day for Jon involves working in the workshop doing maintenance and picking up the phone when customers need assistance.
We answer phone support from at least 08:00 in the morning until 20:00 in the evening.
– I take professional pride in contributing outside of these phone hours as well, if it's necessary to prevent downtime, says Jon.
Good service is of course important to us, and it's something we continuously strive for. Customer satisfaction is a priority!
– The rest of the Ocein team and I go the extra mile to provide high-quality service, prevent downtime and keep our customers happy, says Jon.
What sets a good net cleaner apart from a bad one is how clean it gets the net, and not least how much impregnation it removes. You can see when a net becomes clean, and some nets also have an oxygen meter so you can measure this directly.
– What also separates a good net cleaner from a bad one is the time it takes to clean the entire net. StealthCleaner is a fast net cleaner – time is money, says Jon.
He explains that StealthCleaner is fast largely due to its special design. It is slim, smooth and streamlined, which allows it to move quickly through the net. The spray discs are positioned for efficient cleaning, and the motors on Ocein's StealthCleaner are more powerful than those on many other net cleaners.

– If you have a certain equipment setup (StealthCleaner Pilot chair), I can log in to the net cleaner in question and assist directly from the workshop here in Kristiansund, says Jon.
He can also provide guidance and answer many questions by phone.
If it becomes necessary to bring products in for repair, we have service centres in all the countries we deliver products to: Kristiansund in Norway, Inverness in Scotland and Puerto Montt in Chile. Products can be brought in and assistance provided there, should the issues not be resolvable over the phone.
No specialist expertise or certification is required to use our products. They are lightweight and user-friendly systems that the vast majority of people in the industry can operate with ease.
– When you purchase a product from us, you are also offered training in maintenance and overhaul, as well as system start-up and some fundamental knowledge, says Jon.
StealthCleaner comes with a warranty period of one year or 1,000 operating hours – whichever comes first.
– If you keep up with maintenance, there is very little downtime with our products, says Jon.
He explains that the most important maintenance task is changing the oil in the thruster motors. There are seven thrusters in a StealthCleaner that need regular oil changes. It is also important to ensure that the O-rings on the cables are lubricated once every six months.
