High performance in a compact package: the A-ROV from Ocein

ROV is a general term for remotely operated underwater vehicles. In aquaculture, they are used for various underwater tasks. In many cases, an ROV can do the job instead of divers. Depending on the gear you hook up to your ROV, it can handle tasks like inspections, retrieving objects, and pulling ropes exactly where you need them.
ROV inspection inside the net pen
Ocein's A-ROV is specially designed, and is compact enough, to be used right inside the net pen.
Our ROV has no sharp edges, ensuring it won't damage anything while on the job, says Andreas.
Inside the net, it can inspect lines, nets, ropes, and moorings, both during routine checks and for special inspections when you suspect maintenance is needed. For instance, after a heavy storm, an A-ROV can run the inspection and report back on the status.
The ROV pilot has a complete overview
The A-ROV is controlled with joysticks, often mounted to a pilot chair. On a screen, you see exactly what the ROV sees. With up to several cameras, the ROV pilot has a complete overview. The cameras can be controlled separately, tilting up and down or panning back and forth. With multiple cameras, you can view different angles simultaneously.
Sensors can be highly useful for gauging the size of objects below the surface. With a sonar, you can measure depth, and with a robotic gripper arm and more advanced controls, you can retrieve objects from the deep.
An ROV tailored to your needs
With Ocein, you can customize your ROV to get the exact features you need for your daily operations. It is primarily built for the aquaculture industry, packing the capabilities of an offshore ROV into a much more compact size. The A-ROV is sold with a standard baseline, but there are always optional extras and custom tweaks we can make for you.
The A-ROV comes with low-light functionality, giving you a detailed view even in deep, dark waters. It has a standard depth rating of 1000 meters, but this can be customized. As standard, the A-ROV is delivered with a cable drum featuring a 1000-meter capacity and a tensioned spooling system.
